First meeting of the Macedonian National Working Group

The first session of the National Working Group of the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia was held at the premises of the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning (MoEPP) on July 10, 2014, in Skopje.

The meeting was attended by nine representatives of MoEPP, representatives of LOCSEE partners EURAC and the REC, as well as representatives from the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts (RCESD-MASA). Participants were welcomed by MoEPP and EURAC, after which the members of the working group introduced themselves. A brief overview of the LOCSEE project, including progress up to June 2014, was given by EURAC. The REC representative explained the objectives and structure of the Good Practice Platform, and examples from Austria and Italy were presented. This was followed by a summary of the Regional State-of-the-Art Analysis and an introduction to the Regional Policy Network. The meeting ended with a panel discussion on future steps and a schedule for LOCSEE activities.
