Second Macedonian stakeholder workshop
September 30, 2014

On September 30, 2014, the second LOCSEE stakeholder workshop took place in the Macedonian capital Skopje, back to back with a United Nations Development Programme workshop within the project "First Biannual Update Report on Climate Change".

The 29 participants at the joint event included members of the Macedonian National Working Group, representatives of various ministries and agencies, academics and private sector representatives. The state counsellor on climate change from the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning, Teodora Obradovic Grncarovska, welcomed participants and presented opening remarks. National expert Natasa Markovska then delivered a presentation on monitoring, reporting and verification (MRV) and outlined the results of existing mitigation measures in the building, transport and energy sectors. Ms. Obradovic then led a brainstorming session on inputs to a potential MRV framework for selected mitigation actions in the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia.
