Joint stakeholder and NWG meetings in Italy
October 8, 2014

The Smart Energy Expo event in Verona, Italy, on October 8, 2014, provided the venue for the second Italian stakeholders' meeting and the third session of the Italian National Working Group (NWG).

Following a welcome address by Antonio Lumicisi, representing the Ambiente Pulito Foundation, the LOCSEE project was presented by Daniele Vettorato of LOCSEE lead partner EURAC. Participants then heard from Roberta Ianna of the Italian Ministry for the Environment, Land and Sea (IMELS) and Alberto Frausin of Carlsberg Italy, who presented Italian case studies of voluntary industrial footprint actions. Felice Alfieri of RINA Services then gave a presentation on the environmental technology verification programme in Italy. Two cases studies were presented related to the Covenant of Mayors: one from the municipality of Verona, presented by Andrea Bombieri; and a second from the municipality of Cernusco sul Naviglio, delivered by Diego Mora.

The presentations were followed by a discussion among speakers, participants and members of the Italian National Working Group (NWG) on the topic of public-private partnerships in local low-carbon strategies. The discussion was moderated by Daniele Vettorato, Luca Cetaga of IMELS, and Antontio Lumicisi.

During the afternoon, the Italian NWG met for its third session to discuss project progress and upcoming LOCSEE-related events.
