Second stakeholder workshop, Slovenia

Slovenia's second national stakeholder workshop was held in Ljubljana on November 24, 2014. The topic was the monitoring of measures to reduce GHG emissions in the transport sector, and the goal was to identify barriers, improve collaboration among key stakeholders and bridge gaps in the data collection process. The 16 participants included representatives of the Ministry of the Environment and Spatial Planning, the Jozef Stefan Institute, the Statistical Office of Slovenia, the Institute of Macroeconomic Analysis and Development, the Slovenian Environment Agency, the Ministry of Infrastructure and PNZ Consulting Designing Ltd.

Barbara Simonic gave a brief introduction to LOCSEE and the operational programme of measures to reduce GHG emissions by 2020 with a view to 2030 (OP GHG 2020). Mr. Ales Podgornik, representing the Jozef Stefan Institute, outlined the aim of the working session, after which participants from the Jozef Stefan Institute, the Statistical Office and PNZ Consulting Designing Ltd. presented their findings and explained their work in relation to GHG emissions in the transport sector. Participants had an opportunity to express their views and dilemmas and make suggestions about how to improve cooperation and data collection.
