Third stakeholder workshop in Slovenia
December 16, 2014

The third workshop on the process of monitoring the measures for the operational programme for reducing GHG emissions by 2020 focused on eco-innovations. The meeting was held on December 16, 2014, at the Jozef Stefan Institute, 10 km from Ljubljana. The goal of the workshop was to reach an agreement on future steps in the monitoring of eco-innovations. The 15 participants representing various national authorities, discussed the effectiveness of incentives for eco-innovations in reducing GHG emissions.

Mr. Uros Vajgl, deputy director-general of the Environment Directorate, presented the activities implemented in Slovenia in the framework of the LOCSEE project. Mrs. Polona Lah from the Jozef Stefan Institute gave a presentation on monitoring the effectiveness of eco-innovations in the transition processes towards a low-carbon society. Representatives from the Statistical Office of the Republic of Slovenia and the Ministry of Economic Development and Tourism then presented the results of the monitoring of innovations and eco-innovations in Slovenia.

Following these presentations there was an open discussion on how to eliminate gaps in the monitoring of measures included in the operational programme for reducing GHG emissions. Many useful proposals were made by the participants in the roundtable, although some issues still remain to be solved.
