Second Greek stakeholder meeting
November 20, 2014

The second stakeholder meeting for the development of low-carbon policy papers was organised by NOA and took place in Athens, Greece, in the afternoon of November 20, 2014, at the premises of the Ministry of Environment, Energy and Climate Change (YPEKA).

As during the morning event, four topics were discussed: current progress towards compliance with the 20-20-20 targets for Greece; the effectiveness of policies and measures included in the National Renewable Energy Action Plan (NREAP) and the National Energy Efficiency Action Plan (NEEAP); the feasibility of achieving the national targets for 2030 proposed in the EC Impact Assessment of the 2020-2030 climate and energy policy framework; and whether the existing policies and measures included in the Greek 2050 Energy Roadmap published in 2012 are sufficient for reaching the 2030 and 2050 targets, and, if not, how these must be enhanced or complemented.

The afternoon meeting, however, focused on the building sector. The meeting was attended by 15 representatives from YPEKA, NOA, the Energy Conservation Group, Facets S.A., the Centre for Renewable Energy Sources, and Helesco S.A.
