ReSEEties workshop
October 16, 2013
On October 16, 2013, the Regional Environmental Center for Central and Eastern Europe (REC) attended a peer-review workshop for the ReSEEties project. The project addresses the problem of inefficient resource use in cities by assisting municipalities to develop integrated waste and energy solutions. The event, which took place in Budapest, provided an opportunity to learn about the latest environmental projects in the SEE region and the current situation in terms of renewable energy in Hungary. It was also a chance to build institutional connections and boost cooperation among projects financed by the South East Europe Transnational Cooperation Programme and other institutions.

The REC was invited to present the LOCSEE project and to share information about its aims, main target groups and beneficiaries, upcoming activities, current challenges connected with climate change and GHG emissions reductions in South East Europe, and main project outputs.

On October 17 and 18, 2013, the ReSEEties project partners also held a stakeholder meeting, which focused on institutional capacity building in municipalities, lowering energy consumption costs, developing RES potential, improving waste management, and identifying the social impacts of environmental awareness.
