First meeting of the Montenegrin National Working Group

The first session of the Montenegrin National Working Group (NGW) took place at the Ministry of Sustainable Tourism and Development in Podgorica, Montenegro, on June 19, 2014. The 10 participants represented the ministry, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the Environmental Protection Agency of Montenegro, and LOCSEE lead partner the European Academy of Bozen/Bolzano (EURAC).

After the members of the NWG had introduced themselves, EURAC gave a brief overview of the LOCSEE project, including its main objectives, geographical coverage, tasks and key deliverables, and activities to date. The UNEP representatives presented the objectives, tools and structure of the good practice platform, referring to examples already available on the LOCSEE website. They also outlined the information presented in the regional state-of-the-art analysis. To conclude the meeting, a representative from the Montenegrin ministry presented the aims and activities of the Regional Policy Network.
