Low Carbon South East Europe

Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection, Serbia

The Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection (MAEPS) is Serbia’s national focal point for the implementation of the UNFCCC and the Kyoto Protocol and for climate change issues. All activities related to the UNFCCC and Kyoto Protocol are coordinated by the Climate Change Division (CCD). The ministry is actively involved in regional and international cooperation programmes through projects, forums, seminars and meetings, and is responsible for the development and implementation of climate change-related projects and activities at national level. The ministry has rich experience in the preparation of studies and analyses in the field of climate change and environmental protection. Representatives of MAEPS were involved in the preparation of the national position for the Copenhagen and Cancun climate conferences, as well as for other meetings and conferences. As the only Serbian partner, MAEPS will have an important role in providing data on the development of low-carbon policy papers at national level.
